The RPII is delighted that the government have said that playgrounds and outdoor gyms can open from the 4th July, however they are today issuing important advice to parents and carers planning on visiting outdoor playgrounds with their children.

3 July : National bodies meet to discuss government guidance on the opening of playgrounds

A number of national bodies with interests in play, including The Register of Play Inspectors International (RPII) met with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to discuss the current government guidance and clarify it’s practical application as playgrounds prepare to open.

24 June 2020 : Statement on the Government’s announcement on the reopening of outdoor playgrounds on July 4th 2020

The Register of Play Inspectors International (RPII) is today calling for all playground owners to carry out an in-depth inspection prior to the reopening of any facility and ensure that all inspection schedules are brought fully up to date.

With the introduction of new standards on the 30th November it is crucial that we all start applying these consistently and to avoid any misunderstandings going forward the attached statement sets out the current position and withdrawal date for the current standard.

The RPII is the official body for examining, accrediting and certificating indoor, outdoor and inflatable play inspectors.
