RPII Guidance Document

Outdoor Operational

Inspectors competent in carrying out Monthly or Quarterly operational inspections. The Operational level inspector has proven his/her ability via a written and practical examination valid for a three year period. After such time re-assessment is required.

Outdoor Routine

Inspectors competent in carrying out visual Daily/Weekly inspections of play areas. The Routine level inspector has proven his/her ability via examination valid for a three year period. After such time re-examination is required.

Inflatable Annual

Inspectors competent in carrying out Annual Inspections

The Annual Inspector has proven his/her ability via a series of examinations and requalifies via attendence at CPD events (British Isles only – outside British Isles by examination after the first 3 years initially, then every 5 years).

  • They have provided confirmation of the relevant insurance cover as follows:
  • Public Libility – £2,000,000.00 (minimum)
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance – £500,000.00 (minimum)
  • Sign and abide by the Code of Conduct (annually)

The Annual Inspectors of inflatable play equipment pay an Annual Membership Fee and are entitled to use the RPII Logo (prior permission must be sought from the Company Secretary)

Indoor Annual

Inspectors competent in carrying out Annual Inspections
The Annual Inspector has proven his/her ability via a series of examinations and requalifies via attendence at CPD events (British Isles only – outside British Isles by examination after the first 3 years initially, then every 5 years).

They have provided confirmation of the relevant insurance cover as follows:

  • Public Liability – £5,000,000.00 (minimum)
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance – £500,000.00 (minimum)
  • Sign and abide by the Code of Conduct (annually)
  • The Annual Inspectors of indoor play areas pay an Annual Membership Fee are entitled to use the RPII Logo (prior permission must be sought from the Company Secretary)

The RPII is the official body for examining, accrediting and certificating indoor, outdoor and inflatable play inspectors.
